One Neighborhood at a Time
CityWATCH is a multi-faceted, citywide program designed to engage the whole Church in taking their place on the wall, to do as we’re
commanded in Jeremiah 29:7, “seek the peace and prosperity of the city which I carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it because if
the city prospers you too will prosper.” We’re additionally commanded in James 2:8; “If you really fulfill the royal law according to the
Scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” you are doing well.” Additionally we’re all called to “watch and pray.”
Each of the components of CityWATCH below we believe, will have amazing, long lasting Kingdom impact!
DRIVING THROUGH NEIGHBORHOODS
Men and women going out 2x2 in a vehicle, men with men, women with women, even husband and wife together, driving through the neighborhoods surrounding their churches and praying for families, children,
marriages, etc., that God would bless and
protect the homes in that sector of the city,
to build a wall of protection that the enemy
couldn’t penetrate.
The goal would be for each of these 400+
churches that blanket our communities to
take responsibility just for the 1⁄2 square mile
around their churches, their Jerusalem, and
encourage their people to take part.
As in the days of Nehemiah, a protective
wall around the entire city would be built.
PRAYING FOR NEIGHBORS BY NAME
This is an exciting component of CityWATCH.
In this scenario, members of each church
would pray over the approx. 425 households
in their 1⁄2 square mile, daily BY NAME, by
each taking 5-7 names each day, utilizing a
fresh new prayer that would be e-mailed to
them every day over a determined period of
time.
The beauty of this scenario is that it engages
the whole church in praying for their
neighbors and we certainly believe this again
would have incredible impact on our
communities and the Kingdom of God!
If just 1⁄2 of the churches participated in this,
191,000 people would be prayed for BY
NAME. What might God do with that?
GOING TO WAR ON OUR KNEES AGAINST GANGS
As we’re all aware that as great a job as our law enforcement does, crime is still wreaking havoc in our cities today.
So, CityWATCH, In partnership with all of law
enforcement, is in process of building a Gang
Task Force (S.I.F.T) Strategic Intercessors For
Transformation to begin to do two things; 1) to
pray for gang members BY NAME, that God
would begin to bring great conviction and
reach their hearts for Christ. 2) Pray over and
drive around the perimeter of the worst of the
worst neighborhoods in our cities,
It’s been stated; “Faithfulness isn’t holding the
fort, it’s storming the gates of hell! ”
